THELMA GLAS
1927 - 2000
Thelma Mae Glas (nee Dredge), beloved wife of Philip Glas, passed away suddenly in Taber on Thursday, January 27, 2000 at the age of 72 years.
Besides her adoring and devoted husband Philip, she leaves her nine children to cherish her memory, Donna (Adolf) Riemann of Coaldale; Lenora (Vic) Yaroslawsky of Hays; Connie (Ron) Wangsness of Stoughton, Saskatchewan; Janette (Bob) Ponting of Hays; Clara D’Amour (Elmer) of Brooks; Phyllis (Ken) Hirney of Hays; Sharon (Gord) Hirney of Hays; Rod (Mary Ann) Glas of Vauxhall and Wanda Brown (Dean) of Medicine Hat; thirty one grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Betty (Al) Craig of Surrey, British Columbia, a step-sister Ann Van Skiver of Coalmont, British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Thelma was predeceased by an infant sister; her parents John Thomas and Helen Margaret Dredge and Rocky Chamberlain.
Thelma was born on May 19, 1927 in Regina, Saskatchewan. At the age of four she moved with her parents and sister to Vancouver, British Columbia where she received her education. While there, she met and later married her husband Philip. They moved to Masefield, Saskatchewan where they took up farming and began to raise her family. In 1953 they moved to Hays where she has resided until the time of her passing. Thelma was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life revolved around her family.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Vauxhall on Monday, January 31, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jozef Perehubka Celebrant.
