JACK BROOKS
1917 - 1999
Fredrick William John Brooks of Vauxhall, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Bernice Brooks, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 1999 at the age of 82 years.
Jack was born August 16, 1917 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He lived in the Enchant district for forty three years where he farmed before he went to work for the Bow River Irrigation District as a ditch rider. He returned to Vauxhall in 1994 after his wife Bernice passed away. Jack was an active member of the Enchant and Vauxhall Lions Club and Senior Citizens and also spent countless hours helping with the Enchant Museum.
Jack will be forever missed by daughter Lorna (Ken) Feist; grandchildren Troy (Lauren) Feist, Jack (Toni Lyn) Feist and Lynette (John) Cornell; eight great grandchildren Johnathan, Kyle, Tyler, Michael, Jessica, Hayden, Drake and Katelyn; brothers Ken Brooks and Jim Brooks; sisters Dorothy (Larry) Browning, Ethel Wurzer, May (Leonard) Hart and Kay Grover; brothers-in-law Harold Jones, Gilbert (Celia) Drake and Delbert Drake; sisters-in-law Frances (Jim) Ostrup, Beatrice Howg and Jean Ann Drake. He will be sadly missed by special nieces Bertha Sprinkle, Patty Foster and Sharon Glas as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his wife Bernice in 1992, son Wayne in 1986, three brothers, one sister, four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, December 27, 1999 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Enchant Community Hall, Enchant on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Yvonne Mills officiating. Interment followed at the Enchant Cemetery.
