RONALD WINCHESTER
1919 - 1999
Ronald Glen Winchester of Taber passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at the age of 80 years.
Ronald was born on April 4, 1919 in Taber, the son of Charles and Gertrude Winchester. He remained in the Taber area where he was raised on the family homestead. Ronald farmed in the area for many years and had a keen interest with his horses. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and served overseas for five years. Upon his discharge, he returned home and continued to farm. Ronald also worked in various fields such as construction, mining and with the Town of Taber. He will be remembered by his family for his easy going nature and his sense of humor.
Leaving to cherish his memory are his sisters Sybil Goldthorpe of Brooks and Carol (George) Korsa of Wabamun; his brothers Dale Winchester of Wetaskiwin and Earl (Doreen) Winchester of Kimball. He is also survived by a cousin Norton Winchester of Taber as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents and by two sisters, Cleo Bain and Helen Winkler.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
