ESTHER ALLEN

1917 - 2004

Esther Rae Allen, beloved wife of Ted Allen, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the age of 87 years.
Esther was born at Bellevue, Alberta on January 5, 1917, the daughter of George and Maria Chiarovano. She attended Normal School in Calgary and moved to the Taber area where she taught at Cromwell School. She married Ted Allen on November 5, 1938 and they farmed in the Taber area for a number of years. Esther was instrumental in starting the Taber Museum and served on the Library Board.
Besides her husband Ted, Esther is survived by a son Ted (Holly) Allen of Calgary and a daughter Linda (Art) Olivier of Taber; grandchildren Tania Lee (Arya) Farinpour of Los Angeles, Megan McKinley (Tony) Deegan  of Calgary, Tedd Richard (Christy) Allen of Los Angeles, Katherine Rae Allen, Sean Wallace Allen, Michelle Rae (Jerry) Gill of Prince Albert and Andrea Louise (Dave) Olivier of Edmonton; three great grandchildren Kamran  Arya Farinpour, Armand Joseph Olivier and Jordan Marie Olivier and also by one sister Inez Truba of Calgary.  
She was predeceased by a son Richard Russell "Dick" Allen in 1969 and three sisters Georgina Hallworth, Doris Vieweger and Mary Chiarovano.
A Private Service for family and close friends was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Friday, January 9, 2004.
