HARRY WINBERG
1910 - 2002
Harry Carl Winberg of Taber, beloved husband of Dorothy Winberg (nee Holtman) for twenty nine years, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at the Taber Hospital at the age of 92 years.
Harry was born in Edmonton on July 9, 1910. He was a life member of the Royal Order of Elks and an honorary life member of the Taber Men’s Senior Golf Association.
Besides his loving wife Dorothy, Harry is survived by two daughters Karen (Ron) Gurba of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Myrna (Marvin) Guenter of Calgary; two step-sons, Blake Holtman and Jerry (Sharon) Holtman all of Taber and a step-daughter Patricia Davies of Lethbridge; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Harry is also survived by a sister Peggy (Jack) Solowoniuk of Seattle, Washington and a brother Howard (Edi) Winberg of Vauxhall as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Carl in 1957; mother Seinne in 1964; first wife Ruth in 1972 and a brother Kenny in infancy.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Ray Gardner officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
