MILDRED VARGA

1937 - 2002

Mildred Varga passed away in Taber on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at the age of 65 years.
Mildred was born in Coaldale on October 15, 1937, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Riha. She received her schooling in Readymade. Mildred married Joe Varga on November 14, 1959 and made their home in Taber. Joe passed away on June 25, 1983. Mildred was an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and devoted much of her time cleaning the rectory and maintaining the church grounds and flower beds. Due to failing health, Mildred became a resident of the Taber Continuing Care Facility and has resided there until the time of her passing.
Mildred will be forever remembered and cherished by her children; her daughter Jo Ann (Jay) Dowell of Calgary and their children Jo-Lee and Jesse; two sons, David (Cindy) Varga of Taber and their children Courtney and Blaine; and son Greg (Kerri) Varga of Calgary and their children Brenna and Ryan. She is also survived by her brother Frank Riha of Readymade.
Besides her husband Joe, she was predeceased by her parents Mary and Joseph Riha.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. recited by Deacon Mike & Yvette Whalen.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, December 6, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles Celebrant. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
