VERONIKA BAUMSTARK

1915 - 1999

Veronika Baumstark of Taber, beloved wife of the late Jakob Baumstark, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 1999 at the age of 84 years.
Veronika was born on April 22, 1915 at Malcoci, Romania where she was raised. She married Jakob Baumstark in October of 1934 and together they farmed until the outbreak of the War. The family emmingrated from Germany to Canada to the Iron Springs area in 1953 and later to Taber in 1954. Veronika enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and sewing but her greatest pleasure was the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. Veronika had recently become a resident of Clearview Lodge in Taber.
She is survived by three loving children Tony (Wilma) Baumstark of Edmonton and their children Debbie (Russell) Theroux and Jeanette (Jon) Lindly; Dorothy (Rudy) Gregus of Taber and their children Peter, Michael (Marlene), Lori (Cam) Leth, Ron (Nicole) and Julie; Henry (Pat) Baumstark of Lethbridge and their children David (Beth) and Monica (Joe) Massey; eight great grandchildren Nicole, Kristyn, Dalanee, Mary, Molly, Jenna, Corey and Cayla; her family in Germany; sister Dora Fruhwirth, brother Jakob (Annie) Schmidt and brother-in-law John (Philomina) Baumstark.
She was predeceased by her husband Jakob in 1993.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at 7:30 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles Celebrant. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
