NORA RUSSELL
1912 - 1999
Miss Nora Leona Russell, dear daughter of the late W.W. “Bill” Russell and Harriett Amelia (nee Collett) Russell, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 1999 at the age of 86 in the Taber Hospital following a brief illness.
Nora was born on October 8, 1912 in Taber at the home of her grandparents Charles and Hannah Collett. At the age of four, she moved with her parents and baby sister to the farm of her grandfather Russell in the Fincastle district. She attended the Reliance School with her sister and three brothers.
Following the death of her father, she and her mother Harriett, moved into Taber in 1962. In 1975 Nora moved into the Clearview Lodge and enjoyed her stay there very much.
Nora will be fondly remembered by her sister Lela Jensen of Taber; her brother Warren Russell and his wife Nina of Lethbridge; her sister-in-law Connie Russell of Taber and many nieces, nephews and dear cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother Bill in 1937; her father Bill in 1960; her mother Harriett in 1970; her brother Demar in 1979; four nephews Larry Russell, Russell Todd Wesley, Cameron Bland and Charles Russell and a niece Karin Bland.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family in the Relief Society Room at the church prior to the funeral service from 12:00 P.M. to 12:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Jerry Haslam officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
