ART MOORES
1939 - 2003
Arthur Moores, beloved husband of Lorna Moores of Taber, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at the age of 64 years.
Art was born in Newfoundland on August 17, 1939. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and moved out west to Calgary. After serving in the Army he ventured into the oilfield. He and Lorna resided in Stavely and for the past 13 years made their home in Taber. While in Taber he was currently in business with Rick Souther in Premiere Manufacturing and Diamond Bullet Corporation. He will be forever loved and remembered by his children and grandchildren, who were a very important and special part of his life.
Besides his wife Lorna, he is survived by his five children Margaret Moores and Michele Draney and their mother Pat; Barry Moores, Andrea (Peter) King and Carolin (Gary) Peters; grandchildren Sarah King, Jenae King, Kyle Peters, Krystal Peters, Bradly Peters, Dylan Moores and Dylan Draney; a sister Rowena (Paddy) Emmons; five brothers Harris (Elizabeth), Pearce (Sarah), Wilburn (Joan), George (Carol) and Keith (Sharon); a sister-in-law Victoria; two step-brothers and two step-sisters and also by numerous other relatives.
He was predeceased by a brother Howard and a grandson Ryan Moores. Art’s immediate family gathered at the Southland Funeral Chapel on Wednesday evening to say their final good-byes.
The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Community Centre, 4720 - 50 Street, Taber on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
