IOLA LAYTON

1909 - 1998

Iola Harding Layton, beloved wife of the late Calvin Layton, passed away in Taber on Friday, December 4, 1998 at the age of 89 years.
Iola leaves to mourn her passing, her children Dick (Darlene) Layton, Jerry (Gail) Layton, Leo (Diane) Layton, Myron (Judy) Layton, Carolyn (Rodney) Zaugg, Gordie (Gita) Layton, Barbara Wright and Betty (Ray) Bird as well as twenty nine grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren and a sister Phyllis Harding.
Besides her husband Calvin, she was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
At the time of her passing, Iola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where during her lifetime she fulfilled many church callings. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, word puzzles, gardening and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, December 7, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again at the church prior to the funeral service from 12:00 P.M. to 12:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Larry Taylor conducting. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
