MILDRED SKRETTING

1926 - 1998

Mildred Skretting of Vauxhall, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at the age of 72 years.
Mildred was born in Enchant on February 13, 1926 the daughter of Harold and Jennie Orsten. On January 3, 1944 she married Harold Skretting. Together they farmed in the Circle Hill District and had a mixed grain and cattle operation. They later purchased a ranch in Bow City where Mildred moved to following the passing of her husband Harold. Mildred was a proud member of the Circle Hill Busy Bee Club and enjoyed spending time growing flowers, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, six children, “Sub” Harold (Margaret) Skretting, Chuck (Cathy) Skretting, Don (Wanda) Skretting, Alan Skretting, Sharon (Larry) Hagen and Carol (Chris) Clifton; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three brothers Sigurd (Elsie) Orsten, Richard (Joyce) Orsten and Soonie (Audrey) Orsten; a sister Stella (Steve) Popson; sisters-in-law Helga Pederson, Hennie Orsten and Helen Orsten as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1972, her parents Harold and Jennie Orsten and three brothers, Happy, Stanley and Melvin.
Relatives and frinds were invited to meet at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, October 22, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Enchant Community Hall, Enchant on Friday, October 23, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeffery Frostad officiating. Interment followed at the Enchant Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Mildred’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
