BARBARA GREEN

1936 - 1998

Barbara Ann Green passed away peacefully in Taber on Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at the age of 62 years, earning her rest.
She was born in Calgary on May 24, 1936 the daughter of John “Jack” and Ellen Downie. She had resided in Vauxhall for numerous years prior to moving to Taber in 1973. During this time, Barbara has touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion. Barbara was a person with strong family values and loved to spend time with her grandchildren; whom in turn, equally loved to spend time with her. She will always be remembered for her generous heart and willing hands. She remained very active as a volunteer with the Air Cadets long after her own children outgrew it; and with the Canadian Diabetic Association as well as many other causes during the course of her life. She enjoyed being with her many friends, young and old; and will always remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Barbara will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren Pat (Ken) Pauls and their children Lisa and Jason of Taber; Connie Green and her daughter Heather of Lethbridge; Dan (Joyce) Green and their children Jodi and Jordan of Lethbridge; Pam (Doug) Martens and their children Laurie, Jennifer and Amber of Taber; Howard Green of Lethbridge and daughter-in-law Rose Green of Barnwell and their children Tracy, Amanda and Jayme. She is also survived by her children’s father Bill Green of Beaverlodge; a brother Jack Downie and his children Sandra and Allen all of Calgary; and Gloria (Shorty) “the sister she never had” of Lethbridge.
She has been reunited in Heaven with her parents Jack and Nellie Downie and with her grandson David Baksa.
Relatives and friends met for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, September 17, 1998 at 7:30 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, September 18, 1998 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Eric Nelson and Reverend Jim De los Angeles con-Celebrants. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
