DALE CLIFTON
1920 - 2011
With heartfelt sadness, the family of Dale Elmer Clifton announce his passing in Taber on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the age of 90 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, October 7, 2011 between 12:00 P.M. and 12:40 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.
Dale leaves to treasure and cherish his memory, his wife of sixty nine years, June Clifton; four children Marvin (Vicki) Clifton, Diane (Donald) Hallstrom, Michael Clifton and Denyse (Todd) Brilz. His legacy also includes his twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother G.R. (May) Clifton, sister-in-law Joy Clifton and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Mary Ann (nee Rassmussen) & Freeman Clifton, sister Dorothy Chipman, two brothers Earl Clifton, James Clifton and sister-in-law Margaret Clifton.
Dale was born December 19, 1920 in Magrath. He spent his childhood on a homestead in Del Bonita and the remainder of his youth in Magrath.
Dale married June Ovard November 26, 1941 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. From 1942 to 1946, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1947 Dale and June moved to Taber where he was employed by the Taber Sugar Factory for many years.
Dale was actively involved in his community and served on numerous boards and committees over the years. He served as a Justice of the Peace and also as a Marriage Commissioner. He was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous church callings.
Dale had a passion for life, especially laughter. He was also a great collector, not just of things but of hearts.
