LOUISE FLETCHER
1909 - 1998
Louise M. Fletcher, beloved wife of Frank Fletcher, passed away in Taber on Monday, June 22, 1998 at the age of 88 years.
Louise was born on November 19, 1909 in Valley City, North Dakota and Christened on Sunday, December 18, 1909. On Monday, December 19, 1909, she boarded a settlers train with her mother and grandparents which travelled straight through to Grassy Lake. There, they met her father O.J. Graham who had filed on a homestead and they had Christmas dinner together. She received her schooling at the Hudson School, Taber High School and the Calgary Normal School. Louise became a teacher and taught at the Flickinger, Deer Park and Hudson Schools. She was involved in community work and church activities and honored to retain a life membership of the Knox United Church Women.
Besides her husband Frank, she is survived by her sons Douglas (Marence) Fletcher and Alden (Mildred) Fletcher; six grandchildren Donna (Kim) Fehr and their children Tyler and Kent; Blake (Debi) Fletcher and their children Travis and Paige; Garry (Tracy) Fletcher and their children Danny, Beccie and Joel; Bruce (Cindy) Fletcher and their children Braden, Ryan and Derrick; Lynn (Terry) Marcellus and their children Zachary and Samantha; Rhonda (Scott) Craig and their children Madison and Devun; three brothers John Graham, Jim Graham and Charlie (Gert) Graham; a sister Inez Sinclair as well as numerous other relatives.
Louise was predeceased by a grandson Chris Fletcher and a sister Pearl Hart.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 26, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
