Edna Elizabeth Anne LePage passed away peacefully in Taber on Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at the age of 79 years.
Edna was born to Fred & Pearl Lemna, one of six children on February 7, 1919 in Medicine Hat. She later met and married Cecil LePage on September 21, 1940. Edna was employed with the Catholic School Division as secretary treasurer for five years before working at the Taber School Division for seventeen years as an assistant secretary treasurer. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time playing card games such as bridge with her friends and teaching her grandchildren how to play crib. Edna also spent much time on the golf course as she was an avid golfer. Most of all, she was a family orientated lady whom loved to socialize and spend quality time with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her children Bob (Liz) LePage of Edmonton, Peg (Bob) Powell of Barnwell, Pat (Jerry) Heck of Lacombe, Gerry (Garry) Johnson of Medicine Hat and David LePage of Calgary; two sisters Ruth Nugent and Mary Dancoine both of Medicine Hat; a brother Charles Lemna of Medicine Hat and a sister-in-law Bernice Dempster of Medicine Hat. She is also survived by Dr. Alvin LePage of Minnesota and Ray & Phyllis LePage of Kamloops.
She was predeceased by her husband Cecil on December 9, 1962, A sister Gertrude Mayberry, a brother Ed Lemna, a grandson Blair Powell and two infant grandchildren Jonathan Stolson and Christie Flannery.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48th Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 8, 1998 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48th Avenue, Taber on Saturday, May 9, 1998 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend David Meadows Celebrant. Interment took place at Hillside Cemetery in Medicine Hat on Monday, May 11, 1998 at 11:00 A.M.
