TONI JONES
1936 - 1998
It seems to me that our mother was the most splendid woman I ever knew....I have met a lot of people knocking around the world since, but I have never met a more thoroughly refined woman than our mother. If I have amounted to anything, it will be due to her.
Antonia Barbara Jones, beloved wife of Dan Jones of Vauxhall, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at the age of 61 years.
Toni was born on September 17, 1936 at Macklin, Saskatchewan, the second child of Alex and Elizabeth Pakarno. Along with her family she resided near Compeer, Alberta where she was raised. In 1955 she moved to Hays with her family where she helped her parents with the Irrigation farm. In Hays she met Dan and later married him on February 11, 1956. In 1963 they moved to Vauxhall and have resided there since. She operated Toni’s Kwik Clean in Vauxhall until 1989 and then became a Personal Care Attendant, working up until the time of her illness. Tony enjoyed the Medical Profession of caring for her clients who became like family to her and she developed many close personal friendships with them. Her special interests included taking walks and enjoying the outdoors, fishing with her family and gardening, especially growing Tulips.
As a Christian person, she was very active within the Catholic Church. Tony was very family orientated and loved to spend time with her family and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband Dan, she is survived by a daughter Debbie (Darcy) Virostek of Enchant and their children Mitch and Kelsey; a daughter Joanne (Allen) McDonald of Lethbridge and their sons Tyler and Jason; and a son Mark Jones of Lethbridge; three brothers Gilbert (Marlene) Pakarno, Otto (Lillian) Pakarno and Jerry (Isabel) Pakarno; two sisters Marie (Arnold) Gertzen and Linda McAughey and also by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Elizabeth Pakarno, infant daughter Patty Marie and brother-in-law Morley McAughey.
