ILENE LYON

1911 - 1998

Ilene Lyon, beloved wife of Donald Lyon of Vauxhall, passed away on Monday, February 16, 1998 at the age of 86 years.
Ilene was born on July 21, 1911 at Wauchope, Saskatchewan and married Donald Lyon on December 3, 1935 in Medicine Hat. She worked at the Vauxhall Trading Company for many years and belonged to a variety of Ladies groups, including the Birthday Group. She was also active in the Senior Citizens Center in Vauxhall and her passion was gardening and flowers.
Besides her loving husband Donald she is survived by a son Ross (Loretta) Lyon of Rimbey and their children Doug (Krisunda), Barry (Sandra) and Shelley (Paul) Fredbjornson; and a nephew Jim (Audrey) Larson of Calgary and their children Terry (Roberta) Larson and Art (Mary-Ellen) Larson; ten great grandchildren; a sister Lillian Mason of Lethbridge and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceaded by two brothers Jack and Bob Reid and a sister Kathleen.
The Funeral Service was held in the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church on Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bruce Sheasby of Parkview United Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
