TED HAYNES
1958 - 2011
Constable Theodore “Ted” James Haynes, beloved husband of Laurie Haynes of Bow Island, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the age of 53 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family in the relief society room at the church prior to the funeral service on Thursday, August 11, 2011 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Robert Burgess conducting. Burial to follow at the Magrath Cemetery.
Left to cherish Ted’s memory is his wife Laurie, his children Theodore Chad Haynes of Toronto, Travis (Nicole) Haynes of Lethbridge, Todd Haynes of Vauxhall, Julie Haynes (Daniel DenHollander) of Bow Island and her son James, Alicia Poole (Kyle Downey) of Swift Current, Kyla Poole of Bow Island. He is also survived by his parents Theodore “Ted” & Sharon Haynes of Magrath; his parents-in-law Herb & Anne Butz of Swift Current; brother Randall (Lisa) Haynes of Magrath; sister Sherri (Mike) Swing of Park City, Utah; brothers-in-law Craig (Tatum) Butz of
Chicago, Kevin (Holly) Butz of Weyburn and by numerous special nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Levi.
Ted was born in Taber on May 22, 1958. He graduated from Magrath High School. Ted served a mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denver, Colorado. He later attended the University of Lethbridge graduating with a Bachelors of Education. He started his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1986 and was dedicated to the force for twenty five years.
Ted loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and training his numerous black labs. Recently he started raising pheasants to be released for his and others hunting pleasure. Ted excelled in many sports and also had a black belt in Judo. He played basketball for the Magrath Zeniths and was selected as a 4A all-star. Ted was also a member of various fish and game associations. He loved working with the youth and coached basketball for many years.
