Michael Joseph Truyaert of Cranford, passed away at home on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the age of 71 years.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa Celebrant. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Mike is survived by his brother Henry Truyaert of Cranford, sister Rose (Don) McLean of Lethbridge, niece Cindy McLean (Rhod Hubbard) of Calgary and nephew Larry McLean of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his parents George & Margaret Truyaert.
Mike was born in Lethbridge October 18, 1939 to George & Margaret Truyaert. He received his schooling in Barnwell and Taber and later a degree from the University of Alberta in Agricultural Engineering. Mike resided most of his life on the family farm at Cranford. He loved to fly and obtained his private pilots licence. He was a member of the Agriculture Institute of Alberta and served with the Bow Island Grazing Association, serving as Secretary/Treasurer.
