FRANK HAJEK

1911 - 2011

Frank Hajek, beloved husband of the late Sofia Hajek, passed away peacefully in Taber with his family by his side on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the age of 100 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa Celebrant. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
He is survived by three children, Veronica (Peter) Stillinger of Calgary and their children Hilda (Brad) Bakuska, Richard (Jan) Stillinger and Anita (Mike) Girling; Carl (Ines) Hajek of Taber and their children Cindy (Lloyd) Vangheluwe and Heide Carriere; Joe (Barb) Hajek of Taber and their children Trevor Hajek, Susan Hajek and Jason Hajek. He will be fondly remembered by his great grandchildren Indeanna Smith, Tiah Girling, Derrick Bakuska, Devon Bakuska, Dawson Stillinger, Danell Stillinger, Reno Carriere and Justice Carriere. He is also survived by a brother Wenzel Hajek of Chicago, Illinois and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Sofia Hajek in 1993 and a grandson, Robert Stillinger in 1988.
Frank was born in Ceralije, Yugoslavia on January 29, 1911. He married Sophia Wenus on January 6, 1935. In May of 1953, they immigrated to Canada. In 1959 they purchased a farm at Taber where he farmed until his retirement.
