1923 - 2011
Annie Leeks, beloved wife of Claude Leeks, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the age of 87 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, March 11, 2011 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
Besides Claude, her loving husband of sixty three years, Annie is survived by two daughters Wendy (Mike) VanderWal of Taber and Sandra (Robert) Bielesch of Calgary; grandchildren David (Sandie) VanderWal of Lethbridge, Kristie (Scott) Bull of Taber and a great granddaughter Alexa Bull. She is also survived by three sisters Dorothy (Gren) Murray of Calgary, Marge Sorensen of Edmond, Washington, Kay (Don) Faulkner of Surrey and by numerous nieces, nephews and all of Nana’s “adopted families”.
Annie was born in Calgary June 21, 1923 to Genevieve (nee Standish) & Joseph Strange. She married Claude Leeks on August 21, 1948. They honeymooned at Cypress Hills Provincial Park where they later purchased a cabin. The “cabin” became the place Annie loved to be. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
