DAVID CHRISTMAS

David Christmas, beloved husband of Betty Christmas of Taber, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the age of 66 years.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.
Besides his loving wife Betty, David is survived by two sons, David Christmas of Lethbridge and Shane (Jackie) Christmas of Lethbridge and their children Mya & Carly Rose. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Adele Reamsbottom of Taber; brothers-in-law Bill (Chris) Reamsbottom of Taber, Dan (Mary) Reamsbottom of Lethbridge, Tim (Nancy) Reamsbottom of Taber, David (Kate) Reamsbottom of Medicine Hat, Terry (Sandra) Reamsbottom of Lethbridge; sister-in-law Joyce Christmas of Salmon Arm; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous cousins in England, two in Edmonton and by his best friend, Mike (Cathy) Ross of Taber.
He was predeceased by his parents Bill & Bertha Christmas, brother Eric Christmas and father-in-law Stan Reamsbottom.
Dave was born January 5, 1945 in London, England. In 1956 he immigrated to Canada along with his parents and his brother Eric. They settled in Calgary. Following his schooling, Dave served with the Royal Canadian Navy, was a member of the Calgary City Police and drove for Greyhound Bus Lines.
In 1979 Dave married Betty Reamsbottom and started Christmas Trucking. In 1982 they moved their two sons, David & Shane and the trucking business to Taber. Dave later sold the business and began working for the MD of Taber and the Department of Highways. From 1988 until the time of his passing, he was employed with Volker Stevin.
