1954 - 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Blaine Munroe Knibbs in Lethbridge on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the age of 56 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 139 - 2 Avenue West, Bow Island on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. A private family burial will follow at the Bow Island Cemetery.
Blaine leaves to cherish his memory his companion Pat Stirton of Lethbridge; his mother Maxine Knibbs of Bow Island; siblings Judy Ann (Rick) Dyer of Kelowna, Robin (Connie) Knibbs of Bow Island, Carey (Tamara) Knibbs of Bow Island and Kalvin (Yvonne) Knibbs of Calgary; his nephews, Scott, Mark, Brock, Grant and Bret as well as his niece Colby.
He was predeceased by his dad Bert; nephew and godson Troy.
Blaine was born March 29, 1954 in Taber. He grew up in Bow Island, graduating from Senator Gershaw School. After graduation, Blaine worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas before joining the City of Lethbridge Electrical Department where he was currently employed.
Blaine was an avid body builder and power lifter. He won the title of Mr. Alberta in 1987. He had a passion for owning muscle cars and motorbikes throughout his life. Blaine also loved his dog Sara. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Blaine was frequently leaving friends and family laughing until they cried.
