John was born April 9, 1924 and lived all but the last three years of his life on the same street in Taber. After serving overseas with the Army, he married and in the house next door to his parents, raised four children. John spent most of his working life dedicated to the Taber Cannery. After his retirement, he continued his favorite hobby, which was gardening and trying to cultivate the perfect apple tree, as well as searching for treasure with his metal detector. In 2007, John moved to Lethbridge where he has resided until the time of his passing. He left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with and those he met through the years. John was really one of a kind and we will miss him dearly.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in John’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7 or to the charity of one’s personal choice.
