Tina was born April 25, 1939 in Giroux, Manitoba - the ninth of eleven children born to Annie (nee Warkentine) & George Kornelsen.
Tina met Elvin Reimer and they married in 1961. Their family quickly grew by five children; Sylvia arrived in 1963, Alex in 1964, Ivy in 1964, Lionel in 1967 and Andy in 1968. Between 1969 and 1973, Tina and Elvin lost “Four Buds in their Bouquet” when Sylvia, Ivy, Alex and Lionel were all lost to heart disease. Tina cried, but never lost hope, faith or her sense of humour. Amy arrived in 1971, Dorita in 1974 and Robert in 1977. Grandchildren began arriving in 1995.
In 1995 Tina was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease - something she knew very well after having cared for Parkinson’s patients as a home care worker and nurse. Parkinson’s took so much, but never her love for Elvin, her children, her grandchildren or her extended family. She never complained through it all.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Tina’s name may be made directly to the Parkinson's Society of Southern Alberta, Lethbridge Chapter Office, 1254 - 3 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0J9.
