RUBY KLIM
1925 - 2009
Ruby Klim, beloved wife of the late John Klim, passed away at the Extendicare in Lethbridge on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the age of 83 years.
Ruby was born December 31, 1925 in Lacombe to Gabriel and Rakel Skretting. She was raised and schooled in the Kinnondale area. Ruby married John Klim on December 18, 1944. In 1952, Ruby and John moved to the Circle Hill District to take up farming and resided there until they retired to Vauxhall in 1979. In 2004 she moved to Lethbridge and has resided at the Extendicare for the past three years. Ruby was a lifetime member of both the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Vauxhall Curling Club. Ruby was also active with the Vauxhall Golf Course. In addition to curling and golfing, Ruby enjoyed knitting and bowling. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
Ruby is survived by her son Larry (Kathie) of Lethbridge; daughters Carol (Gerry) LaRose of Pincher Creek, Cathy (Chuck) Skretting of Coaldale and Wendy (Larry) Orsten of Coaldale; grandchildren, Randy LaRose (Barb Johnson) of Pentiction, British Columbia, Brent (Shelley) LaRose of Letellier, Manitoba, Colin (Rhonda) LaRose of Pincher Creek, Jody (Brad) Siemens of Lethbridge, Keith Klim of Calgary, Mark (Janaya) Skretting of Coaldale, Carrie (Jordy) Allinson of Lethbridge and Ashley Orsten (Tim Hlady) of Coaldale; thirteen great-grandchildren, Aleigh, Dylan, Peyton, Morgan, Andrew and Madelyn LaRose; David, Joshua, Elizabeth and Nicolette Siemens; Teagan and Addison Skretting; and Charli Allinson. Ruby is also survived by her sister Greta Olson; brothers-in-law Harry Klim and Wally (Alice) Klim; sisters-in-law Natalie (Joe) Welker and Pat Klea as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband John; parents Gabriel and Rakel Skretting; father and mother-in-law John and Anne Klim; brother Trygve Skretting; brothers-in-law Palmer Olson, Russ Klea, Charlie Chamberlain, Cliff Isaac and Nick Klim; sisters-in-law Shirley Klim, Chrissie Chamberlain, Mildred Skretting and Anne Isaac.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, 504 - 3 Avenue North, Vauxhall on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeffery Frostad officiating. Burial to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery.
