REG THOMPSON
1938 - 2004
Reginald Thompson, beloved husband of Pat, of Vauxhall, passed away at home on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the age of 65 years.
Reg was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario on December 12, 1938. He came west to Alberta in 1975 eventually settling in Vauxhall where he worked for Vauxhall Foods and Packwell Produce. He served with the Vauxhall Fire Department from 1975 to 1982 and was a member of the Lions, Royal Canadian Legion and the Ag Society. He enjoyed participating at the Rodeo's in the mutton busting events, entering fishing derby's and shoeing horses.
Besides his wife Patricia he is survived by seven children Bruce Thompson, Bonnie (Bill) Fergeson, Joseph Thompson, Joanne (Larry) Thompson all of Ontario, Valerie (Robert) Mattice of Vauxhall, Brenda (Jim) Stevenson of Smiths Falls, Ontario and Wayne (Rose) Einwecher of Carleton Place, Ontario; grandchildren Angie, Jamie, Melanie, Robert and Chris all of Ontario, Adelia and Elly Mae of Lethbridge, Tammy (Howie) Turner of Vauxhall, Jody Mattice of Vauxhall and Tony (Wendy) Stevenson of Taber, Chris and Nicki Einwecher of Ontario; great grandsons Cody, Kevin and Kyle Turner of Vauxhall; sisters Shirley Hurlbert, Lois (Steve) Micheals, Sharon Ilan and Orie (Charlie) Pond and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Eldon and Rita Thompson and brothers Ivan and Stan Thompson.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Monday, August 16, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320-9 Street North, on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Janice McCloskey officiating. Interment to follow in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
