TORSTEN SKRETTING

1924 - 2007

Torsten Skretting passed away at the Taber Hospital on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the age of 83 years.
Torsten is survived by his brothers Hans Skretting, Edwin Skretting; sisters-in-law Anne G. Skretting, Ionne Skretting, Irene Skretting, Anne L. Skretting, Carol Skretting; brother-in-law Peter Braun and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Gustav & Jörgine Skretting; sisters Mary Key, Judith Braun; brothers Gust, Gudmund, Arnold, James and Sven Skretting and a brother-in-law Harry Key. He was also predeceased by nieces and nephews Selmar Skretting, Allyson Skretting, Jennifer Peters, Gregory Braun and Robert Ostafichuk.
Torsten was born in Varhaug, Norway on March 30, 1924. Along with his family he immigrated to Canada in 1928. He attended school at Kinnondale, Adler and Circle Hill. Torsten along with his brother Hans, took over the homestead after their parents passing and remained farming until his passing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, May 27, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jeffery Frostad officiating. Burial to follow at the Enchant Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Torsten’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choosing.
