JOHN SILVER
1932 - 2007
John Eldon Silver, beloved husband of Madeline Silver of Taber, passed away peacefully with family around him in Lethbridge on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the age of 75 years.
Besides his loving wife Madeline, he is survived by his sons Greg (Christine) Silver of Lethbridge, Phil Silver of Taber and Rob Silver of Taber; daughters Cindy Doram of Sylvan Lake and JoAnn Silver-Degenstien of Picture Butte; grandson Bradley Silver; granddaughters Destiny and extended family Naomi, Hannah and A.J.; Tayla and her mom Missy. He is also survived by his brothers Everett Silver of Taber and Harold Silver of Nova Scotia; sisters Mary Archibald of Nova Scotia and Beatrice Lynk of Nova Scotia as well as several nieces and nephews in Alberta and Nova Scotia.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice Silver; brothers George, Bill and Glen; Sisters Hazil, Bessi and Mable; sister-in-law Laura Silver and brother-in-law Murray Lynk.
John was born June 15, 1932 in Stars Point, Nova Scotia to John and Beatrice Silver. In 1954 he came to Alberta with his good friend Wes Higgins. John worked at many jobs, including farming, oil rigs, construction and truck driving. He married Madeline Beluch in 1968 and together they raised three wonderful boys. John had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He was always friendly to anyone and loved to tease and joke around.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, November 23, 2007 between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in John’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s personal choosing.
