1927 - 2008

Everett Eugene Silver, beloved husband of Laura Silver, of Taber, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Everett is survived by his children, Frank (Linda) Davison of Sussex, New Brunswick; Nancy Spinney of Argyle, Nova Scotia; Bea MacNamara of Taber; Everett (Val) Silver of Calgary; Mary (Joe) Smith of Nobleford; Marshall (Brenda) Silver of Calgary; Josetta (David) Conrad of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; Russell (Sandy) Silver of Kitchener, Ontario; Lawrence (Kim) Silver of Lethbridge; twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harold (Claudine) Silver and sisters Mary Archibald and Bea Link.
He was predeceased by his wife Laura; parents John & Beatrice Silver; sons-in-law Don MacNamara, Dave Tjostheim and Harold Spinney; eight siblings and two brothers-in-law.
Everett was born on September 6, 1927 in Pereaux, Nova Scotia to John & Beatrice Silver. He married Laura Davison on May 25, 1951 and settled in Taber in 1979.
Everett loved the open road. He was a trucker by profession and worked in the trucking industry all his life. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and spent many hours watching baseball and wrestling. Everett loved a good laugh and had a nickname for everyone he knew. He loved animals and enjoyed the company of many “faithful companions” over the years including his last pup Tiney.
Everett was a kind and caring man who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all those who carry him in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, January 24, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Frank Lewis of the Knox United Church in Taber, officiating.  Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
