Colleen Esther Dorothy Sharp, beloved wife of Ed Sedgwick of Taber, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the age of 41 years.
Besides her loving husband Ed, she is survived by her children Amanda Lynn and Kristopher Bradley; parents Donald and Beatrice Sharp of Cranbrook; brother Colin Sharp and his daughters Kayla and Kathleen; sister Samantha (Daryl) Slobodian and their children Cyndi and Alexander; father and mother-in-law Donald and Margaret Sedgwick; brother-in-law Ken Sedgwick; sister-in-law Sheila Thies and her daughter Victoria as well as numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her grandmothers Dorothy and Mom-Mom.
Colleen was born in Vancouver on July 20, 1966 at 7:05 p.m. at the St. Vincents’ Hospital. She was raised in Vancouver until the age of seven when her family moved to Cranbrook where she completed her schooling from Mount Baker High School. Colleen met Ed Sedgwick in 1986 in Prince George, British Columbia where they fell in love and started a family. They were truly blessed with two lovely children, Amanda Lynn (sixteen) and Kristopher Bradley (fourteen). They stayed in Prince George until moving to Vauxhall in March of 2000. In 2004 the family moved to Taber where she has resided until her passing. Colleen was a very original, passionate person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an animal lover from day one, enjoying everything from billy goats to her crazy cat hades. Colleen enjoyed camping, being outdoors and genuinely spending time with family and friends. She also spent many hours with the Taber 225 Air Cadet Squadron, helping her Ed and their children with anything and everything. Colleen worked at Safeway for a number of years where her infectious smile and laughter brought her many great friendships. No matter the day you could hear her laughter through the store. As of late, Colleen spent a lot of time planning the most exciting day of her life, her wedding. Her and Ed were finally going to make it official. She spoke of this day with such excitement and love in her heart. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and many friends.
