Ethel was born April 6, 1932, the fifth child of Paul & Eldora Wesley and was raised in Wrentham. She met Neil Slimmon and they were married on June 26, 1950. Together they began their married life in Wrentham, moving to Brooks, Etzikom, Bow Island, Craigmyle and later returned to Etzikom in 1962 where they have lived ever since. Ethel always had time for her friends and loved to visit. She enjoyed gardening and year after year, her gardens became more beautiful. Ethel won an award for her nice yard and flowers. For many years, she had a greenhouse where she would grow plants and flowers for her family and friends.
Ethel drove school bus when there was still a school at Etzikom. As Neil got busier in the elevator, she helped out in the office for many years. In 1992, Ethel and Neil retired from the elevator, moving to the farm north of Etzikom where she continued to grow beautiful flowers and enjoyed camping in the summer. Ethel loved her family dearly and she enjoyed visits from her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil.
A big part of our family is now gone but she will live on in our hearts forever.
