DICK SCHUSSLER
1923 - 2008
Dick Schussler, beloved husband of the late Harriet Schussler, of Burdett, passed away in Bow Island on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his four sons & daughters-in-law, John & Lien Schussler of Edmonton; Gordon & Irene Schussler of Burdett and their children Jaylene, Deiryk and Clayton; Allan & Kim Schussler of Burdett and their children Alicia, Stephanie, Cody and Marie; Bert & Alice Schussler of Burdett and their children Mark, Anneke and Tommy. He is also survived by his sister Co Bowman, sister-in-law Antje Schussler, brother and sister-in-law Teus & Bertha Schussler and sister Allie Van Kampen all of Holland.
He was predeceased by his wife Harriet Schussler, grandson David Schussler and brother Joop Schussler.
Dick was born in Holland on April 13, 1923. He immigrated to Canada in 1949, settling in the Foremost area. In 1955, he married Harriet Vanden Top. They purchased the farm at Burdett in 1960 where they raised their family.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Burdett Christian Reformed Church (located 13 miles south & 1 mile west of Burdett) on Friday, August 29, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Burial Service will be held at the Highfield Cemetery (located 2 miles south of the church) on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10:00 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Burdett Christian Reformed Church on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Art Numan officiating.
