BOB SIMEK

1930 - 2008

Bohumil “Papa Bob” Simek passed away, following a brief illness, on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the age of 78 years.
Bob was born on January 22, 1930 in Brezová, Czechoslovakia. At the age of 16 he left his family behind and escaped the Communist rule by crossing the border into Austria. From there he lived two years in Germany before immigrating to Canada.
Papa lived in Ontario, B.C. and many towns in Alberta before settling in the Cranford area. He spent the majority of his years happily farming there.
He is survived by seven children; Cathy (Cam) Hodgen of Lethbridge, Gerry (Jill) Simek of Anchorage, Alaska, Val (Leroy) Holthe of Taber, Roy (Carrie) Simek of Taber, Ken (Corinne) Simek of Taber, Tom (Kristen) Simek of Cranbrook and Lorraine (Darrell) Visser of Lethbridge; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and special friend Mary Czabaj.
A Private Family Service will be held. Sbohem Papa Bob.
