LAFERN RADWAY

1908 - 2006

Mrs. Lafern Cook Haynes Radway, beloved wife of the late Mr. Jean Fay  Radway, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the age of 97 years.
Lafern was born in Taber on April 27, 1908, the youngest of four  children born to Peter and Margaret Cook.  In 1910 they moved to  Purple Springs, then back to the Taber area in 1925.  She married  Percy Haynes on October 15, 1927.  From this union came four children  Julian, Roy, Margaret and Tim. In June 1959 she married Jean Radway.   Lafern and Jean moved around often, living in Creston, B.C. and  various other places in Southern Alberta, making Taber their last  place of residence.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus  Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed country dances, reading,  writing poetry and old time country music.
She is survived by her son Roy (Carolee) Haynes and their children  Brenda (Bud) Mickelberry, Sheldon (Tracie) Haynes, Denise (Rod) Yokoyama, Arlene (John) Geeraert, Leonard (Kelly) Haynes and Monica  Skretting; a daughter Margaret (Walter) Langmuir and her children  Roger Engleson and Sheila (Byron) Gustola; a son Tim (Deanne) Haynes  and their children Shane, Karen, Richard, Robert and James Haynes; a  granddaughter Linda (Gary) Holdaway; a sister Mary Makinson as well  as 23 great grandchildren.
Lafern was predeceased by her first husband Percy, her second husband  Jean Radway, son Julian, sister Hazel and brother Willard.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of  Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709-50 Ave., on Tuesday,  April 25, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Ray Gardner conducting.   Friends are invited to meet with the family in the Relief Society  Room of the church prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 P.M.   Interment will follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Lafern’s name may be made  to the choice of one’s personal choosing.
