JOAN LANGEMAN
1920 - 2004
Joan Langeman, beloved wife of the late Jacob Langeman, passed away in Taber on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the age of 83 years.
Joan was born on December 18, 1920 at Redditch, Worchestershire County, England, the oldest of six children of Charles and Ellen Salisbury. She came to Canada in 1926 with her parents and sister, settling in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. She moved to Coaldale in 1940 to work and met her future husband Jacob. They settled in Taber in 1948 and remained there for 20 years. In 1968 they moved to Lethbridge and remained there until Jacob passed away in 1997. She returned to Taber at that time where she resided until her passing.
She is survived by two daughters Verla (Joe) Liptak of Taber and their children Valerie (Chris) Orban of Lethbridge, Cathy (Darren) Trempner of Lethbridge and David Liptak (fiancée) Lisa Evans) of Taber; Judy (Larry) Elhart and their children Nicole (Sheldon) Flaig and Mark Elhart (special friend Amy Mitchell) all of Medicine Hat; seven great grandchildren Brance, Taylor and Chortney Orban of Lethbridge, Madison and Zachary Trempner of Lethbridge and Ethan and Ty Flaig of Medicine Hat; a sister Pauline Redden of Victoria, B.C.; two brothers Norman (Grace) Salisbury of Victoria and Charles (Dorothy) Salisbury of Christina Lake, B.C.; sisters-in-law Martha Langeman of Coaldale, Margaret Salisbury of Slocan, B.C. and Jean Salisbury of Ottawa, Ontario and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Jacob, she was predeceased by an infant daughter Judith Audrey and two brothers Ray Salisbury and Brian Salisbury.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Theodore's Anglican Church (5120-44 Ave.) Taber on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating. Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
