PHYLLIS LAYTON

1925 - 2004

Phyllis Ruby Layton, war bride, straight-talking mother, knitter of things large and small, and dedicated multi-mile walker, took her first walk with the angels at the age of 78 years.  
Waiting to greet her on the other side of the veil were her father and mother, Harold and Emma Savage (Potter), brothers Peter (Wendy) and Leonard (Patricia) Savage; sister-in-law Florence (Harold), brothers-in-law Cecil (Gladys), Orlin (Beryl), Ralph (Verna); sisters-in-law Irene Freed (Max), Hazel (Oliver) Payne, Dorothy Stalker (George); grandson Jonathan Layton and granddaughter Emily Layton.  
Mourning her passing are her husband Harold, who lovingly held her hand through the final days, brothers Harold, Edward (Valerie) and Raymond (Pat); sister May (Eric) Budd; children Robert (Marg), Janice (Vern) Orr, Jennifer (Gordon) Evans, Valerie (Mike) LeBaron, Ralph (Pat), Kirk (Janet) and Kevin (Sandy); 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.   
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5006-48 Ave.) Taber on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 P.M.  
The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5314-54 Street, Taber on Wednesday, June 9 at 3:00 P.M. with Bishop David Walters officiating.  Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
