STEVE KLEMEN
1922 - 2006
Steve Klemen Sr., beloved husband of Rose Klemen of Taber, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the age of 83 years.
Steve was born in Toranj, Yugoslavia on November 29, 1922 where he received his schooling. On November 11, 1946, he married Rose Pierobon. Together they immigrated to Canada in 1960, settling in Taber. In 1966, they moved their family to Vauxhall. In 1975, they returned to Taber where they continued to farm. Steve enjoyed farming and loved being in the cattle business. He has spent the last four years in the continuing care facility at the Taber Hospital.
Besides his loving wife Rose, Steve is survived by his son Joe of Lethbridge, Joe's children Wes and Michelle and her family; his son Steve (Bev) of Taber and their children Laurie, Bobbi, James, Michelle, Veronica and their families; his son John (Kathleen) of Vauxhall and their children Janna, Jonathan, Joshua and their families; his daughter Rose (Kelly) Kerner of Coaldale and their children Robyn, Jennifer, Janine, Michael, Brett and their families; his daughter-in-law Connie (Richard) Palmer of Taber and their children Tracey, Darren, Heather and their families. He is also survived by twenty four great grandchildren, his brother Joe and by his sisters Helen and Margaret.
He was predeceased by his sons Victor and Frank and by his grandson Dennis in infancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS, Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
