Johanne Lund

1935 - 2025

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Johanne Sandra Lund, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She passed away peacefully in Taber on Thursday, March 27, 2025 as the sun started its long descent across the prairie sky, which she loved.

A private committal service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden columbarium prior to the funeral service.

The Funeral Service will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.

Johanne was the devoted wife of the late Patrick K. “PK” Lund and a cherished mother to Judy (Tom) Birch of Grande Prairie, Terrie Renner of Taber and Todd (Reede) Lund of New Westminster, British Columbia. She was a loving grandmother to Tammy, Trisha, Cassandra and Kennedy; a proud great grandmother to Joseph, Samantha, Tyson, Sawyer and Kash.

She was predeceased by her husband PK; son-in-law Larry Renner; sister Bunny (Florence) Eves; brothers-in-law Ross Eves and Terry Lund; sister-in-law Lorna Lund.

Johanne had an incredible zest for life and a thirst for learning. She was always up for a challenge, whether it was skating at the rink or on the pond, curling, learning to ski in her 40s, she was always willing to take on new adventures with enthusiasm. Johanne believed in hard work, resilience and finding joy in every moment, values she instilled in her children and grandchildren.

She had a gift for the gab and never met a stranger. Johanne loved connecting with people, sharing stories and making those around her feel welcome. She was an active member of the Taber Oilwives and a passionate supporter of 4-H. Alongside her husband, she built and operated JS Lund Tank Rentals, playing a vital role in the family business.

Her love, light and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
