1942 - 2025
With great sadness, the family of Leonard James Wright announce his passing, surrounded by his immediate family in Calgary on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 82 years.
Besides Kiyoko “Koke” (née Urano), his loving wife of fifty nine years, Jim is survived by his children Cheryl Wright (Rick) of Lethbridge, Delores (Andries) Postmus of Taber and by his grandchildren Amy (Jon), Gage (Mylene) and Sydney (Edward).
He was predeceased by his father Leonard, mother Amy and by his step father, Alfred Fauville.
Jim was born in Coleman on January 8, 1942. In his earlier years, Jim worked as a coal truck driver and then moved to farming and property construction. He was a true “Jim of all Trades” and took great pride in delivering quality work.
Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed flying, hockey, skiing, hunting, snowmobiling, biking, camping and swimming. Jim and Koke loved traveling and went on many adventures. They also judged figure skating at a high level for many years, something they much enjoyed doing together.
Jim was a pillar of strength, lived with great integrity and was an example to those around him. He will be greatly missed, and forever in our hearts.
