BOB KINZER
1939 - 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Charles Kinzer, beloved husband of Margaret Kinzer of Lethbridge, who passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the age of 68 years after a brief battle with cancer.
Bob was born on January 22, 1939 in Killam, Alberta. He was well respected in the Oil & Gas Industry throughout Alberta and around the world. He made a great number of close friends during his work life and through his love for hockey.
Bob had a passion for hockey from an early age; playing for the Killam Indians, the Grimshaw Huskies and later on in life for the Pioneers. Never to miss the opportunity to watch a game, he was often referred to in the hockey circle as “Grandpa Bob”.
Besides Margaret, his loving wife of 46 years, Bob is survived by his son Rob Kinzer of Lethbridge; daughters Teresa (Dave) Gnapp and Rhonda (Jacques) Dupuis, all of Calgary; grandchildren Jesse Thompson, Mathieu & Nicolas Dupuis and Jordan & Derek Gnapp. He is also survived by his brothers Den (Alice) Kinzer of Calgary and Ronald Kinzer of Red Deer; sisters Mildred Ball of Sherwood Park and Bernice Lewis of Killam as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Nick & Annie Kinzer, brother and sister-in-law Doug & Muriel Kinzer; sister and brother-in-law Catherine & Tom James; brothers-in-law Lloyd Ball and Charlie Lewis.
Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dennis McDonald Celebrant.
