1932 - 2024

Mildred Mae Beck, beloved wife of the late Vern Beck, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the age of 92 years.

The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 214 - 4 Avenue West, Bow Island on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Bow Island Cemetery.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Deone Zmurchyk; grandson John (Roanna) Zmurchyk; great grandchildren Peter (Colby), Brody (Bradi), Caleb (Ayla), John (Karli), Dylan and Corby; great great granddaughter Harlynn Mae.

She was predeceased by her husband Vern; granddaughter Jennifer Zmurchyk; son-in-law Peter Zmurchyk; parents Bert and Hilda Johnson; brothers Elmer Johnson and Carl Johnson; sisters Esther Hansen and Marion Ruggles; sisters-in-law Elaine Johnson and Tina (Clem) Bexte; brothers-in-law Tony Hansen and Harry Ruggles.

Mildred was born on February 2, 1932 in Vauxhall to Bert and Hilda Johnson. She spent her early life in Vauxhall. In 1951 she married Vern Beck and together they pastored the Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Vauxhall until 1956. Their daughter Deone was born in 1952. They moved to Bow Island in 1959, then to Burdett in 1964, then returning back to Bow Island in 1979. They would spend their time there until 2017 when the decision was made to move to Lethbridge to be closer to family. Mildred’s greatest loves were her family, God, church and her beloved Blue Jays.
