Murray Campbell

1955 - 2024

Murray Trent Campbell, passed away in Bow Island on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the age of 68 years.

The service was held at the Burdett Community Hall, 311 Main Street, Burdett on Saturday, September 14, 2024 between 1:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.

Murray is survived by his two children Sacha (Peter) Watson and their family George and Everett Watson and Ryan (Mayuko Imagawa) Campbell. He is also survived by his mother Carol Campbell, his brother Warren (Theresa) Campbell and by his dear friend Jill Devine. Murray will also be fondly remembered by special nieces Kelli-Ann (Glen) Nixdorf, Tara (Dale) Lindsay, Kendra (Cody) Church, his extended family and many close friends.

He was predeceased by his father Donald Campbell in 2005.

Murray was born in Taber on August 16, 1955 to Donald and Carol Campbell. He spent his younger years working on the Campbell family farm and hunting with his brother Warren, his cousins and friends. He had a love of music starting at a very young age which stemmed from being around the Campbell family band in its different forms over the years. In 1980, Murray married Wilma in Bow Island. They later divorced but remained close friends.

Murray spent the majority of his working years farming, but also worked as a real estate agent having completed the real estate licensing program at Mount Royal University in 2005. He also sold hail insurance, worked as a long haul truck driver and as a hunting guide. Murray received numerous hunting awards and was recognized for excellence in customer service in both real estate and hail insurance sales. He was an avid supporter of the Bow Island Blues Club and had a long time passion for guitars both as a musician and a hobbyist. He was a Fish and Game member, belonging to the Bow Island chapter.

He was a beloved community member who will be cherished and missed by many.
