David Frederick Christensen, passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the age of 62 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 7:00 P.M.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber, on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. A private burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

David leaves behind his sisters Marie (Gerald) Rombough of Taber, Sharon (Doug) Craik of Stirling, Barbara (Terry) Kerkhoff of Lethbridge; brother Bruce (Faye) Christensen of Taber, as well as several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Veronica Christensen, sister Pat Christensen and niece Jaire Rombough.

Born in Taber on July 27, 1962, David attended school there and was involved in church activities and scouting. David entered Mount Angel Seminary in 1980 and was received as a novice into the Benedictine Abbey of Mount Angel in Oregon. Returning to Canada in 1983, he began a career in the hotel industry that took him to Cranbrook and Kelowna. In 2001, David resumed theological studies at St. Joseph Seminary / Newman Theological College in Edmonton. He returned to southern Alberta in 2006 where he continued to work in the hotel industry. David completed his Bachelor of Theology through Newman Theological College in 2009. He spoke fondly of the years he spent at Mount Angel, Kelowna and Edmonton, where he made many friends.

An avid stamp collector, movie buff and lover of all kinds of music, David loved to sing in church or in front of any audience. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of Scouts on Stamps Society International. David had a wonderful sense of humour, a keen mind and loved to play board games. He was a master of trivia of all kinds and was rarely stumped by any question.
