Besides his loving wife Lyn, Art is survived by his seven daughters Tracy, Sheryl (Jer), Shelley, Deb (Paul), Lana (Doug), Janet and Kendra; nine grandchildren Mackenzie (Matthew), Hannah, Caitlyn, Alex, Cassandra (Jamie), Serena, Jarrett, Dana (Brandon) and Raelyn; eight great grandchildren Everett, Benjamin, Wyatt, Raeanne, Riley, Angelo, Lucas and Rozalynn. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Gerald (Beth), Ruby (Norm), Janyce (Frank), Bruce (Karen), Sherris and by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Art was born in Lethbridge on November 27, 1942. He attended Bon Ayre and Kinniburgh schools before attending high school in Taber. Art enjoyed retelling the adventures he had growing up with five siblings and cousins and the lessons he learned from his parents.

Following school, Art worked for Carnation Potato Plant. In November 1966, he married Sarah Andres and together had Tracy (1971) and Sheryl and Shelley (1972). In 1972 when the plant moved to Manitoba, Art moved his young family from Taber to Wrentham to start farming on the Lyle Osborne Farm. While working on the farm with his dad, he continued pursuing and sharing his passions of camping, hunting, horses, fishing, fossil hunting, and black powder shoots. Traveling throughout the United States for shoots and rendezvous with the teepee became a family tradition. Many friends and memories were made during these years.

In 1989, Art met Lyn McPhee (his sweetie). He finally convinced her to go for coffee and together they embarked on a thirty five year adventure. Their mountain wedding on August 4, 1990 was memorable. Some other adventures included camping, fishing, raising horses and traveling. They did this while supporting and encouraging their combined family of seven daughters and also spoiling the grandkids and great grandkids. After nine years on the farm, Art and Lyn moved to “the ranch” in Carberry, Manitoba. While there, Art worked on a potato farm and then his favorite job, driving garbage truck. Waving and interacting with the local kids who eagerly waited for him to pass by. This was the highlight of the job and a source of many stories.

Art enjoyed hosting family reunions and numerous family visits. Many cherished memories were created at “the ranch”.

In the summer of 2018, Art and Lyn returned back to Lethbridge to retire and be closer to family. Art continued to share his stories, talents and loved visiting with family and friends alike. All were a source of joy for him until the very end.
