Larry Kunz

1950 - 2024

Lawrence Wayne Kunz, passed away in Taber on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the age of 73 years.

The burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden, 7600 - 50 Street, Taber on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family to celebrate Larry’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion (Lower Lounge), 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, May 25, 2024 between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Larry is survived by his siblings Jeannette Payne of Taber, Linda Christensen of Taber, Melvin (Bea) Kunz of Lethbridge, Jerry (Cindy) Kunz of Brooks, Randy Kunz of Taber and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was born at the Taber General Hospital on September 14, 1950. He was the fourth of six children born to Alfred and Angelina Kunz. He received his education at St. Mary’s school where he played basketball.

As a child, Larry once sat in the onion patch of the garden, eating onions. His lips turned white and he for the remaineder of his life, no longer would eat onions.

As a young teenager, Larry’s first job was washing dishes at Big T’s Supermarket. He later worked for a number of years at the Old Dutch plant and for Diamond S.

Larry like to fish as a young adult with his brother and father. In his later years, he enjoyed playing darts at the Legion and always enjoyed going to the Royal and the Palace to visit with friends. He also enjoyed visiting with family at various family functions. He enjoyed going to all our family reunions, no matter where they were held Alberta or Saskatchewan. Larry was a very quiet person and never spoke a bad word about anyone. He loved his hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He always doted on them for birthdays and at Christmas. Larry traveled every year for his holidays with Cam Anderson to British Columbia and always came back with loads of T-shirts and a dinosaur. In later years, he became friends with Harold Bolen.

Larry resided with his parents until their passing. He lived with his older sister Jeannette for three years before moving to Harmony Home. He has encountered various health problems in his later years but continued to reside at Harmony Home until his passing.
