Bob is survived by his three sisters Iris Martens of Bow Island, Bev (Andy) Dykstra of Burdett, Linda (Rick) Drader Nanaimo, British Columbia and his nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents Bruce and Irma major and his older brother David Major.

Bob was born in Edmonton on August 3, 1952, the son of Bruce and Irma Major of Burdett. He attended school at the Winnifred Stewart School in Edmonton for kids with special needs. From there, he moved to Taber and worked at Taber Special Needs until he turned sixty five and was having health problems. It was then that Bob moved to Alfred Egan Home in Bow Island (a hidden gem) until his passing. Bob loved the farm and farm animals and had a special bond with them. He also enjoyed food (pie) and family time, just sitting around eating and playing games. Fireman and policeman always got his respect and admiration and they were always willing to let him ride or sit in their vehicles and pass the time with them. You may also remember Bob as the greeter at Summit, offering you a coffee and a handshake. He will always be remembered as the cowboy wearing the black hat.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Bob’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choice.
