Frances will be remembered by her step brothers Phillip (Diane) Aptt of New Minas, Nova Scotia and Neal Aptt of Nova Scotia as well as by her brother-in-law Sidney Kent of Upper Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.
She was predeceased by her husband Percy Kent; parents Frank & Thelma Hayden; step brother Wayne Hayden; father-in-law & mother-in-law Cecil & Annabell Kent; sisters-in-law Bessie Burris & Rita Kent and brother-in-law Douglas Kent.
Frances was born September 18, 1932 in the small fishing village, Victoria Beach, Nova Scotia, where she was raised and attended school. She married Percy Kent and they settled in the farming community of Upper Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia. Dad worked hard and eventually decided to move the family to Ottawa where he worked various jobs. Mom later pushed dad into taking an exam for the Labourers International Union. Frances was a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and making sure her house work was done. She lived in Ottawa for over thirty years when she decided to move back to Nova Scotia. Frances enjoyed her weekly card games at the Fellowship Hall and the Legion. She later decided to move to Vauxhall to be closer to her daughters. Still enjoying life, she played cards at the Vauxhall Seniors Centre and was always excited to get in on any crib tournaments. A loving mother she will be missed, we will cherish her always.
A private family service will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Alana Johnson officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Lethbridge Chapter, P.O. Box 563 Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 3Z4 or to a charity of one’s choice.
