Mary Kuntz

1945 - 2023

Mary Kuntz, beloved wife of the late John Kuntz, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the age of 78 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 18, 2023 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 4418 - 52 Street, Taber on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery. 

Mary is survived by her siblings Dave Braun of Taber, Tina (Rudy) Horvath of Taber, Johnny Braun of Warman, Saskatchewan and Ann Edwards of Steinbach, Manitoba.

She was predeceased by her first husband Leonard Koether; second husband John Kuntz and their pet dog Griz; parents John and Helen Braun; brother Corny Braun; sister Helen Minton; brothers-in-law Fred Edwards, John Dick and Art Minton; sisters-in-law Ann Braun and Helen Braun.

Mary was born in Norquay, Saskatchewan on April 21, 1945. Her family moved to Alberta in 1954 to the Heber Anderson farm near Barnwell. Mary received her schooling in Barnwell. She worked in the beet fields, eventually finding jobs in Taber. Mary went to hairdressing school in Lethbridge and cut hair for friends. She then work at the Taber hospital in the laundry department until completing her training as a personal care aid at Linden View. In May of 2013, Mary had a stroke that affected her left side, from which she never recovered. This resulted in her having to live at Linden View where she once worked. Mary will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by those that knew her.
