Magdalena Stillinger

1932 - 2021

 Magdalena Stillinger, beloved wife of the late Peter Stillinger, passed away in Taber on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

 Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 7:00 P.M.

 The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. 

 Magdalena is survived by her children Ham Kajan (Michele) of London, Ontario, Ali (Fatima) Kajan of London, Ontario, Matilda (Garrett) Niessen of Kamloops and Mary (Jody) Ginther of Taber, her precious nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John (Olive) Premerl of Lonqueuil, Quebec and their family; brother-in-law Tony Stillinger; sisters-in-law Katie Chistie and Terry Gray as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins around the world.

 She was predeceased by her husband Peter Stillinger.

 Magdalena was born in Kukujevci, Srem, Croatia on August 17, 1932. She immigrated to Canada in 1953, settling first in Longueuil, Quebec then making her way west to Taber in 1971. Magdalena worked hard in her life at various jobs, but her most important job was as a homemaker and caregiver to many children. She was full of life. Magdalena loved to travel, dance, play Bingo and cards, bowling and crotcheting. Family was everything to her. She looked forward to hearing from her many family members around the world. Even on the day she died, she was happy to hear about the newest addition to the family in Quebec.
